The Sacramento FrontRunners Leadership Circle is selected annually by the membership. Members of the Leadership Circle are responsible for guiding the direction of the club, addressing day-to-day inquiries, organizing events and runs, and supporting the work of our five key pods: Communications & Branding, Membership & Community Relations, Finance, Social Events, and Run Activities.
Together, the Leadership Circle ensures that Sacramento FrontRunners remains an inclusive, engaging, and well-connected community for all who love running.

President - Nick Kobel
Nick Kobel joined Sacramento FrontRunners in September 2023 and now serves as the club’s President after serving 18 months as Vice President.
After running cross country and track in high school, he rediscovered the joy of running when he moved to San Francisco in 2022. He’s run a few half marathons and is training for his first full, shattering his old story that such distances were impossible for him.
🎶 His running soundtrack is all downtempo and psychill: slow build, long flow, perfect for distance or trail runs.
-

Communications & Branding - Larson Kinter
Larson Kinter joined Sacramento FrontRunners in August 2024 and now serves as Communications and Branding Chair.
Being active his entire life, Larson has run multiple marathons starting from when he was 17. He joined the Portland FrontRunners in 2023 and was inspired to see community and encouragement in a safe, friendly queer space. When he moved down to Sacramento in 2024 he was ready to give back.
🎶 His running soundtrack is powerful women ballads, and moody alternative rock.
-

Relations - Trevor Hanson
Trevor’s excited to step into the Relations Chair role and help Sacramento FrontRunners keep growing.
He first fell in love with running back in high school cross country, got into marathons in the early 2010s, and after a decade long break, found his way back to the sport he loves - running a few more marathons and even crossing the Ironman California finish line. Now he’s using that same drive to help the club grow, connect, and keep the community thriving.
🎶 His running playlists bounce between upbeat pop songs and deep house DJ sets.
-

Finance - Richard Hernandez
Richard joined Sacramento FrontRunners in the summer of 2021 and now serves as Treasure of the Group.
He started running in his early 70’s and ran California International Marathon in 2021 and 2022. He became active in Front Runners because “Running Changes Everything”. He’s training to run his next Marathon in 2027 when he is 80 years old!
🎶 When running, Richard’s playlist is nothing but DISCO! 🪩

Run Activities - Neil Do
Neil Do joined the Sacramento Frontrunners Facebook group back in 2016, but only became active in-person in 2025, and now serves as Run Activities Chair.
He has always loved running and hiking, and recently has discovered a love for trail running. Spending time with others being active, and encouraging and inspiring one another is something he’s extremely passionate about.
🎶 His running playlists may often be progressive trance and dance sets, or it might be his favorites list which include a mix of pop, rock, alternative, jazz, and movie soundtracks.
